It proved to be a blockbuster even at that time and earned record-breaking money. However, at that time the measure of success was not considered to be Rs 100 crore, and the film could not earn even Rs 100 crore.
‘Veer Zaara’ was re-released on the big screen after 20 years and it has surpassed today’s success standards. The film was re-released on 13 September and has collected more than Rs 100 crore at the global box office. According to Taran Adarsh, when ‘Veer Zaara’ was released in 2004, it collected Rs 61 crore in India and Rs 39 crore abroad. Overall, the film collected Rs 98 crore.
Taran Adarsh said in a tweet that ‘Veer Zaara’ earned Rs 2.50 crore between 2005 and 2023. It collected Rs 30 lakh in February 2024 and Rs 1.80 crore in September 2024. In this way, the film collected Rs 102.60 crore. The film was a romantic drama, which is the story of a girl and an Indian soldier living in India-Pakistan.
‘Veer Zaara’ was directed by Yash Chopra. The film also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Manoj Bajpayee, Boman Irani, Kiran Kher, Anupam Kher and Divya Dutta. Its IMDb rating is 7.8. It can also be watched on Prime Video and YouTube.
