When Manoj came to Mumbai, his first marriage broke during the days of struggle. Manoj and Shabana met in 1998 during the premiere of the film ‘Satya’. Manoj got recognition from Satya. Shabana had also debuted in Bollywood with the 1998 film ‘Karib’. In the film Karib, she was given credit as Neha on screen. Both of them soon started liking each other. After dating for 8 years, both of them got married in 2006. Shabana was seen in films like ‘Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet’ and ‘Fiza’.

On many occasions, Manoj told that he did not face any kind of opposition regarding inter-faith marriage. Manoj did mention social pressure in one of his interviews. The actor said that his family is very open-minded. He said in his interview, ‘There was never any problem with inter-faith marriage because my parents and my wife Shabana’s parents were very open-minded. This was the reason why we did not face any kind of problem. The second thing is that two people have to spend life together. Therefore, nothing is impossible for those who are intelligent. Even God cannot help those who are not intelligent.
In another interview, Manoj had said, ‘I am from a Brahmin family. My wife’s family has a great reputation but the surprising thing is that neither of our families have objected to our marriage till date.
Has not expressed. My wife is proud to be a Muslim. I am proud to be a Hindu. There is never any conflict between us regarding these things.
Manoj said, ‘My marriage with Shabana is more about the values in which we both believe, rather than religion. Those are the things we don’t talk about. Those are unspoken things. tomorrow if either of us
If values change, our marriage will not work.
Manoj had also said, ‘My wife is not very religious. He is spiritual. Are very spiritual. Even if people talk about my wife’s religion, they will never have the courage to say this in front of me. Because they know that I do not shy away from answering. I am very strict about such things. I deal with them this strictly. If my friends say something which should not be done, I am not able to accept it, that is why even today people keep talking about my anger.
