Mumbai. Mithun Chakraborty was recently awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honor at the National Film Awards. Mithun gave many superhit and blockbuster films in the film industry. Mithun, who had a career spanning 50 decades, taught his children to make a name for themselves by working hard in the industry. Mithun believes in letting one’s own path be made in the industry. This is the reason why he never asked for help from anyone in getting roles for his four children. Although his children entered the acting world but could not achieve the same status as him.
Mithun Chakraborty presented his perspective on the entertainment industry from NDTV. He said that many people call it a family industry, but I do not believe so. He revealed, “Till date, I have never asked any producer or anyone to give work to my sons.” He advised his children to achieve their work and position on the basis of merit.
Mithun Chakraborty also talked about the careers of his sons, Namashi and Mimoh Chakraborty. Namashi auditioned for a role in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Bad Boy’, while Mimoh acted in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Haunted’. Mithun said that the success of these films is another thing, but he never encouraged his children.
Mithun Chakraborty said, “I told him that he will have to fight his own battle.” He said that having star parents in the industry is not a guarantee of success. Only talent rules. He said that without this he would not be able to survive in this competitive industry. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Mithun opened up about the struggles his son Namashi faced before making his debut in ‘Bad Boy’.
Mithun Chakraborty said, “Namashi has suffered a lot of pain. I knew everything. He went to audition, and people didn’t even let him stand. When they came to know that he was my son, they were shocked.” Mithun also admitted that he felt some guilt for not using his influence to help Namashi. Although he decided that he would not do anything as new people struggle, he should also experience it.
