In the eighth edition of India Mobile Congress Many tech innovations were introduced, from tracking devices for the safety of children to robots capable of tracking damaged crops.
More than 120 countries from all over the world participated in this tech event held in Delhi. More than 400 exhibitors and around 900 startups participated and showcased their innovations.
1. Robo dog ‘Rocky’: Will send alert message in case of fire
Global tech company Ericsson introduced 5G robotic dog ‘Rocky’. Inspired by the German Shepherd dog, the robotic dog uses artificial intelligence (AI) and powerful sensors to understand commands. It can also be operated by connecting through a smartphone. It is designed to work in emergency situations.
This robo dog can detect emergency situations like fire, gas leakage in mines and water logging and can alert by sending photos and videos in time. Apart from this, it can also be used for patrolling. During patrolling, its cameras and sensors continuously send photos and videos to the cloud, which can be tracked through the app.

2. VI Suraksha: Tracking device for children’s safety
Vodafone India introduced three tracking devices at IMC2024. These include GPS watches for children, different types of tags for pets and bicycles. The company is calling these VI Suraksha. The company has not yet revealed their prices.
Devices introduced for pets and bicycles may be priced at Rs 2,000 and GPS watches for children may be priced at Rs 2,500. Soon these devices will become available for sale on the company’s official website.
A SIM is also included in the GPS watch, which once activated can be tracked live across India. Apart from this, the watch can also record 24 to 48 hours, which can be tracked later. This record will be available on both app and website.
At the same time, to use all three devices, you will have to download only one app, in which you can set a boundary. With this, as soon as this device goes outside the boundary, you will get an alert message. Through the app, you can track at least 5 devices at a time.

3. Shatayu Health Care Kiosk: Get more than 200 tests done for free
This is a kind of health care kiosk. The company has named it ‘Futuristic Health Care Delivery Eco-System’. Its objective is to provide world class treatment to people living in remote areas with the help of healthcare. It has been developed by ICMR’s Center for Innovation and Bio Design. This system is initially being used in government primary health care centres.
With this, the need for big hospitals and huge medical machines installed in them for primary treatment can be reduced to a great extent. This will help in early detection of diseases and timely treatment. Its service has been started at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Punjab.
Shatayu Health Care Kiosks are initially being installed at Primary Health Care Centres.
4. TIH AI Robot: Able to track bad crops
Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) introduced the prototype model of an AI robot to help farmers. It has been developed with the aim of reducing losses in farming. This is an autonomous robot, which works by going to the fields and sending the location of bad plants. This will help the farmer to save the plants by spraying the medicine on them which is getting damaged.
The robot has a 10,000mAh battery. It can be fully charged in 1.10 hours. The company says that the robot can work in the field for two and a half to three hours on a single charge. The prototype model costs Rs 5 lakh, but the cost for field use is around Rs 25 lakh.
It was told by the company that this is the first model of the robot, which will only inspect and collect data. The company is also developing spraying robots, which along with inspection will be able to identify bad crops in real time and spray them on their own. These will be introduced in the next phase.
The TIH AI robot can work for two and a half to three hours on a single charge.
5. Jio Intelligent Shopping Cart: Get rid of billing lines
At IMC2024, Jio has shown an ‘Intelligent Shopping Cart’ equipped with Artificial Intelligence. This artificial intelligence of Jio will help in eliminating billing lines in shopping malls. Using this, the cart will automatically create a purchase bill. It will be quite easy to use it.
The ‘Intelligent Shopping Cart’ is directly linked to the billing desk of the store. When the customer adds the product to the cart, the artificial intelligence equipped cameras and scanners installed on it will send that product to the billing desk. There the price of the product will be directly added to the bill.
If a product is accidentally added to the shopping cart or the customer does not want to purchase a product, the price of that product will be deducted from the bill as soon as it is removed from the cart. Finally, the billing desk will scan the QR code of the customer’s cart and the final bill will be prepared.
Reliance Retail is currently using ‘Intelligent Shopping Cart’ as a project. It is being used in some selected stores in Hyderabad and Mumbai. Soon it can be brought to other stores in the country also.

6. FRS Torch Camera: Able to identify criminals
This is an FRS flashlight equipped with Artificial Intelligence. FRS means Face Recognition System, in which a high-tech camera is installed. This torch can be used to identify criminals and find missing people. It has been created by Indian startup ‘Sparsh CCTV’. The camera installed in it can capture 3000 faces at a time.
The special thing is that even if the criminal tries to hide his identity with mask, glasses, clothes and turban, this camera can still identify him. This torch comes with 5G connectivity and can be directly connected to the server room through the cloud. It starts vibrating as soon as the photo is captured and sends the photo to the server room.
It has a lithium ion battery. It can be used for 8 hours on a single charge. It supports memory cards ranging from 128GB to 512GB. Up to 10 thousand photos and criminal data can be stored in it. With this, this flashlight can identify the suspected person and the missing person.
The company says that its use will prove effective even in floods, earthquakes, accidents and crowded rallies. Soon it will be launched in India. Government agencies will be able to use it initially. This torch has also been tested by Delhi Police by catching 16 criminals.

7. Sense Pro-M (Travel SIM): Call home without changing SIMs while out of the country
Sensorize, a machine-to-machine service provider in India, introduced Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) platform for customers. Its name is SenseProM. With its help, users can manage eSIM profiles without changing the physical SIM card.
The Sense Pro-M platform is built on GSMA’s SGP.22 architecture, providing a secure system with SM-DP+ (i.e. Subscription Manager Data Preparation+) components. This allows users to easily download, activate and switch mobile network operators. This gives them complete control over their connectivity.
VoyX Consumer Travel SIM Along with this, VoyX Global Travel SIM Solutions was also launched. This connectivity service provider is the first company to use ‘Sense Pro-M Platform’. VoyX provides connectivity in more than 140 countries and is designed for students and professionals who travel frequently.
It eliminates the need for a physical SIM card and offers flexible access to local, regional and global data packs. The company has not yet shared the details of its plan. Chief Executive Officer Vijay Kamath said that its plans can start from around Rs 500, in which at least 0.5 GB data will be available.

8. Chat App: Live Translation Calling App
Bhashini’s ‘Bachchit App’ was launched at the Digital India Bhashini booth. It has been developed by KifferAI startup. With the help of this application, you can translate your call live into 14 Indian and 40 foreign languages. It can translate both voice and text calls.
This app is available only for Android users on Play Store. With this, app-to-app and app-to-voice calls can be made. At present, no charge is being taken for app-to-app conversation, but if you talk to someone through the app on a voice call, then you will have to pay Rs 3 per minute.
With this you can translate 40 foreign languages live.
9. Redmi A4: World’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset
Xiaomi introduced Redmi A4 5G smartphone at the event. The special thing is that this is the world’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset. This processor uses the same 4nm processing node as the 4th Gen 2, in comparison, it supports up to 90fps FHD+ displays.
It has support for dual 12-bit ISP camera and is a powerful modem for 5G connectivity. The company said that the Redmi A4 5G smartphone will soon be launched at a starting price of less than Rs 10,000. It is expected that its top model can come for Rs 12,000.
The specifications of the smartphone have not been disclosed. The smartphone is expected to be equipped with a 50MP primary camera, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage, full HD+ touch screen, 5000mAh battery with fast charging support, and 3.5mm audio jack. Apart from this, dual SIM 5G, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, side fingerprint sensor can be found in the mobile. Talking about the operating system, Android 14 OS can be found in the mobile.
The phone will have a 50MP camera.
10. Jio V3 and V4 feature phones
Jio has launched two feature phones V3 and V4 in India. The price of both 4G phones is Rs 1099. In this recharge of Rs 123, you will get unlimited calls and 14GB data for one month. These phones will be available for sale on Amazon and Jio Mart in two months. In these, users will be able to watch more than 455 channels apart from Jio Cinema, Jio TV and Jio Play.
Apart from this, Jio Pay facility is also provided in the phone, through which users will also be able to make UPI payment. Jio chat feature is also provided in the phone. With its help you will be able to chat with your loved ones. For power backup, it has a 1000mAh battery. The phone also has 128GB storage. Users will get the facility of 23 language support in V3 and V4 phones.
