New Delhi. A sad news is coming from the cinema industry. Veteran Bengali actor and playwright Manoj Mitra has left this world. He was 86 years old. According to the information, he breathed his last today. He was struggling with age related problems for the last few days. He breathed his last in a hospital in Salt Lake, Kolkata. After learning about his demise, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also expressed her condolences through her X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Manoj Mitra’s famous films include ‘Dattak’, ‘Damu’, ‘Wheel Chair’, ‘Maiz Didi’, ‘Rin Mukti’, ‘Teen Murti’, ‘Prem by Chance’, ‘Bhalobaser Nek Naam’, ‘Uma’ and Includes ‘Sudden Rain’. In his career, he worked with famous and acclaimed directors like Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Tarun Majumdar, Basu Chatterjee and Gautam Ghosh.

Mamta Banerjee expressed grief
Mamta Banerjee wrote in her post- ‘I am saddened by the demise of famous actor, director and playwright, ‘Bang Vibhushan’ Manoj Mitra this morning. He was a leading personality in our theater and film world and his contribution has been immense. Mamta wrote in her post, ‘I express my condolences to his family, friends and fans.’
