New Delhi. Vikrant Massey’s film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ is ready for release on November 15. The actor is engaged whole-heartedly in the promotion of his upcoming film. He is giving interviews on every possible platform. During this time, in an interview, he called India’s independence in 1947 ‘so-called’, after which people got angry at him. Social media users accused the actor of completely changing his tone for the promotion of the film.

Vikrant had said in the ‘Top Angle with Sushant Sinha’ podcast that we are a young nation and the mentality of slavery has not completely gone away from us yet. As soon as this statement of his came out, Vikrant’s fans also started condemning him. In such a situation, the actor has defended himself by giving the example of his own family. They say that people of all religions, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian live in the same house.

Vikrant’s Muslim brother performs Diwali puja
Vikrant Massey’s father is Christian and his mother is Sikh. The actor’s brother had converted to religion at the age of 17. In Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, the ’12th Fail’ actor says that his entire family celebrates all the festivals together. Despite being a Muslim, his brother celebrates Diwali and Holi with him. Despite being a Muslim, he worships Lakshmi on Diwali.

Actor’s family believes in all religions
The actor further says that they also celebrate Eid at his brother’s house. Vikrant Massey says that his mother, despite being a Sikh, had participated in Karva Chauth with him and his wife Sheetal. His father, despite being a Christian, goes to the temple. This does not mean that he is not a Christian, he also goes to church twice a day. This is the beauty of our India.

The actor further explains, ‘Just as my family lives together, similarly in our country people of all religions live together with love. In our country all religions are considered equal. Let us tell you, Vikrant Massey’s film is based on the Godhra incident of 2002. This film claims to tell the story of the people who were burnt in the train.
