Some new facts about the Moon have come to light in the last few years. A new study has revealed that time moves faster on the Moon than on Earth. The reason for this is that the force of gravity on the Moon is weaker than that on the Earth. Clocks on the Moon move about 56 microseconds per Earth day, or 0.00056 seconds, faster than those on Earth.

Published in Astronomical Journal Study Based on Albert Einstein’s General Relativity Theory. “If we are on the Moon, the clock runs differently than on Earth,” said Bijunath Patla, a theoretical physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), who was involved in the study. In this study, Patla and his colleague Neil Ashby improved upon previous analyzes by using Einstein’s work to calculate the number. The theory of general relativity states that the rate of a general clock is affected by the force of gravity on its location and its associated motion.

According to this study, “Clocks move faster away from Earth and clocks with uniform motion are slower than stationary clocks.” Recently, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) got approval from the Central Government for Chandrayaan-4. The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the green signal to the new Moon mission. In this mission, the technical capabilities required for the landing of an Indian on the Moon and safe return to Earth will be assessed. Last year ISRO had successfully completed Chandrayaan-3 mission. Prime Minister Modi had said that Chandrayaan-4 mission will increase India’s self-reliance in space technology and promote innovation. In this mission, samples will be collected from the Moon and analyzed.

The weight capacity of Chandrayaan-4 can be more than the most powerful rocket available with ISRO. For this reason, preparations are being made to launch the mission in two parts. This will be the world’s first space mission, which will be launched in two parts and the spacecraft will be connected in space. The success of this mission will be a major success for ISRO. The objective of Chandrayaan-4 mission is to return samples from the Moon. Only three countries of the world – America, Russia and China have been able to bring samples from the Moon. America and India also plan to send an Indian astronaut to the International Space Station by the end of next year.
