Government Warns to Ignore Calls from These Foreign Codes For Safety from Digital scams

In the last few years, cases of scams through mobile have increased rapidly. In such cases, criminals threaten their victims and pressure them to transfer money. Generally, these criminals run their network from abroad to avoid detection by law enforcement agencies.

Recently, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center (I4C) and DoT had blocked at least 17,000 WhatsApp accounts of foreign hackers. Its aim is to destroy foreign criminal networks and enhance the digital security of the country. In May this year, the Ministry of Home Affairs had formed an inter-ministerial committee to tackle the rise in organized cybercrime from South East Asian countries like Cambodia, Philippines, Laos and Myanmar.
