New Delhi. December 14 was the 100th birth anniversary of showman Raj Kapoor, who gave a new direction to Hindi cinema. Raj Kapoor’s family celebrated his birthday with great pomp. On the 100th birthday of the late actor-director, the Kapoor family also met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On this special occasion, a son of the Kapoor family revealed that he used to run away from his family and their heritage for many years. This is none other than Shammi Kapoor’s son Aditya Raj Kapoor, who despite being from the most famous family of the film world, chose his own path.

Regarding the time spent with Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor’s son says, ‘I spent a few years with Randhir Kapoor and Raj Sahab in RK Studios. Even today, even Steven Spielberg cannot be compared with Raj Kapoor. At that time, we were searching for time itself. Today, with advances like computer technology, things are different’.

I used to run away from Raj uncle and his son Randhir Kapoor, but I had my own reasons for choosing my own path, moving away from the family legacy. Raj uncle had done all the experiments with cinema, what else could I have done?
