If you have taken Amazon’s Prime membership or Prime Video subscription, then this may be a disappointing news for you, because Amazon is going to make a big change in the streaming device terms of its Prime Video. Currently, Prime members can stream on a maximum of five devices, with no restrictions on device type. However, this is going to change in a few weeks, after which there will be a limit for the users regarding the type of device.

Amazon Help page It states that there will be a limit on device type in Prime Video from January 20, 2025. It has been told that from the due date, users will be able to stream on maximum 5 devices, which can have maximum 2 TVs. The help page says, (translated) “You can stream to up to 5 devices (including up to 2 TVs). You can remove and replace up to 2 existing devices in any 30 day period.”

This means that from January 20 onwards, if a user wants to stream Prime Video content on more than 2 TVs simultaneously, they will need another Prime account. As we mentioned above, currently a user can stream on a total of 5 devices simultaneously, but there is no restriction on which device it is. These 5 can be mobile, laptop or TV.

Amazon is also gradually informing about these changes being made in the terms through email. The email sent to people reads, “Thank you for becoming a Prime member and giving us the opportunity to entertain you. As part of your Prime membership, you and your family will be able to enjoy Prime Video on up to five devices.” From January 2025, we are updating our usage terms in India to include up to two TVs as part of your five device entitlement.”

The email continues, “You can manage your devices on your Settings page or purchase another Prime membership to watch Prime Video on more devices.”
