American Billionaire Elon Musk’s starlink may soon launch satellite internet service in the country. The satellite spectrum in India can be allocated administratively. The country’s largest telecom company Reliance Jio also plans to start this service.

A media Report Sources have been quoted as saying that Starlink has formally agreed to the Telecom Department (DOT) for the conditions related to data interception on behalf of the Local Data Storage Government. In order to obtain this service license in the country, all companies have to accept these conditions. This report said that Starlink had requested to give exemption in certain conditions until the application for this was approved, but the government refused to give any exemption to foreign companies. No foreign company has been licensed for satellite internet service by DOT.

Starlinks in the country may get a competition with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio. Both these telecom companies also plan to launch this service. This spectrum can be allocated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (DOT) in the next few months. Recently Bharti Enterprises reported that it is ready to start the satellite telecom service. The approval of the Central Government is awaited for this service. “We are waiting for spectrum allocation. Our two stations are ready in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. We will launch this service after getting permission.”

Bharti Enterprises has launched 635 satellites and the company is providing services in other countries. Asked about the ongoing controversy over the allocation of spectrum for the past few months, Mittal reiterated Bharti Airtel’s attitude. He said that satellite companies should pay license fees and get spectrum through auction. Earlier, telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that the consumers will get more options by doing the allocation of satellite spectrum. He misrepresent the apprehension of Reliance Jio that it would benefit Starlink.
