The country’s largest software company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) may be investigated in the US on charges of visa fraud. The new government headed by Donald Trump in the US can change the policy regarding visa. America is the largest market for Indian software companies.

A media Report According to, former TCS worker Anil Kini alleged that the company gives false information about the need for visa to send more workers to the US. KINI had said that TCS files more petals than its positions to get more visas through lottery system. The company then pays less than the minimum wage to its workers, which is a violation of US visa laws. Because of this, it pays low payroll tax to the US government. TCS is also accused of using L-1 and B-1 visa. These are easy to obtain visas. These visas are used for workers who are difficult to get a H-1B visa.

KINI had stated in her complaint that to do this, the company gives incorrect information about the job title and responsibilities of its workers in visa applications. Kini filed an appeal after his legal case was dismissed against TCS. It was reported that in 2017, he gave a whistleblower report to the Chief Executive Officer of the company about the methods of fraud. He had said that after this three follow-up reports were also submitted. KINI had alleged that the company then took action against him and stopped his promotion and was dismissed.

The news agency Bloomberg was recently told by Kini that his seniors had ordered him to give false information in the company’s organizational charts to show him more responsibility than his real position. This was done to avoid a scrutiny about the visa. Even before this, some software companies have been accused of giving false information about visas.
