Ranya Rao’s difficulty is going to grow,

New Delhi. There has been a big progress in the gold smuggling case associated with Kannada actress Ranya Rao. It is now reported that the CBI has taken the investigation into this case. CNN-News 18 has come to know that a CBI team has reached Bangalore and will now work closely with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).

Sources say that after taking all the information from the DRI, the CBI team will intensify the investigation and find out whether a gold smuggling racket is going on at the national level.

Ranya, who is the step daughter of Ramchandra Rao, Director General of Police, Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation. He was in the eyes of the authorities as she was traveling repeatedly to Dubai. She traveled 30 times in the last year and four times in the last 15 days and came back to India with several kilos of gold every time.

Ranya was arrested earlier this week at Bangalore Airport. After his arrest, the Bangalore Revenue Intelligence Directorate recovered gold jewelery worth Rs 2.06 crore and Rs 2.67 crore cash from his house in Bangalore. On Friday (March 7), he was sent to DRI custody for three days.

This case is considered to be one of the cases of the largest gold recovery in Karnataka, due to which Ranya’s husband Jatin Hukeri is also being closely monitored. The police allege that she often traveled to Dubai with the actress, from where she allegedly smuggled gold.
