The first women of the state are being operated for women and a mini bank in the small village Barbodania in Dungarpur district. Under the Cooperative Society Act, there are more than 1700 accounts of women in the bank operated by registered and 2 women from the village itself. The annual turnover is also more than 2 crores. For nearly two decades, this mini bank has been setting a unique example of women empowerment.

There is a mini bank in Barbodania Gram Panchayat, 35 km from the district headquarters, where all the arrangements are handled by women. Women are working in the post of cashier, manager, president. There is no work for men in this bank. Because of this, there is no name of men in committee members and accounts. Only women handle the bank. It is known as Mini Women’s Bank. The women’s mini bank was established on 28 January 2002. It is the second and the first women’s mini bank in the country and the first women in Rajasthan and tribal region. Manager Seema Bhagat and cashier Gajra Ekot have been offering their services from the beginning.

The bank has its own building, from where it is being operated.

Such inspiration Mini Bank is operated by Manager Seema Bhagat and cashier Gajradevi. In the year 2001, the then Tamtia Lamps Administrator Sohanlal Sevak started the Women’s Savings Group. After running the group for about six months, on 28 January 2002, registered in the name of Mahila Mini Bank. Since then this trend continues.

Over 1700 accounts of women in bank The women’s committee of the bank has 281 members. The committee chairman is Shantidevi Poonjot. 642 savings accounts, 666 RD accounts and 429 FD accounts are being operated in the bank. So far 213 women have been given a loan of 40 lakh 45 thousand rupees by the women’s mini bank. The total deposit of the bank is two crore rupees. The monthly turnover is an average of 20 lakh rupees. The bank has its own building, from where it is being operated.

This bank has more than 1700 women accounts.

Interest up to 8.25% on savings accounts This bank has a savings account of 642 women. It gets a maximum of 8.25% interest. The main reason behind this is to take 15% interest from women taking loans. This dividend is given to the savings account according to 8.25%. Women are given loans ranging from 1 thousand to 1 lakh in just one hour.
