Nissan India today (August 1) launched its fourth generation SUV X-Trail in India. It will be sold here as an import. The company has introduced the car in just one variant with a three-cylinder mild hybrid engine and has priced it at Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
This flagship SUV of the company has returned to India after 10 years. The company discontinued it in 2014. Its first and second generation models were sold in India. It will compete with Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.

Nissan X-Trail: Exterior Design
The look of the Nissan X-Trail revealed in India is similar to the model sold in the global market. It has split headlights and LED DRLs on top of them. The SUV has a U-shaped grille, surrounded by chrome and the company’s logo in the middle. 20-inch alloy wheels and thick body cladding are seen on the sides of the car. At the rear, the new X-Trail has wraparound LED taillights, which are not connected like today’s modern cars.

Nissan X-Trail: Interior and Features
The cabin of the fourth generation X-Trail has an all-black theme with fabric upholstery. Its dashboard has a 12.3-inch full digital driver display, while an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is available with features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Apart from this, the car also has features like dual-zone AC, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, pedal shifter and sliding and recline for the second row seat. For the safety of the passengers, the car has been provided with safety features like 7 airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear parking sensors and 360 degree camera.

Nissan X-Trail : Engine and Transmission
In the global market, the X-Trail is offered with several engine options and drivetrains, but in India it will be brought only with a 1.5-liter 3 cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine has been given 12 watt mild-hybrid technology, with which it generates 00hp of power and 00Nm of torque. For transmission, the engine has been tuned with a CVT automatic gearbox.
