New Delhi: Rimi Sen has not been active in Bollywood for a long time. The audience remembers her for films like ‘Hungama’, ‘Golmaal’, ‘Baghban’, ‘Dhoom’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’. She is in the headlines again, but this time not because of films, but because of a case. She has taken legal action against luxury car company Land Rover and has demanded compensation of Rs 50 crore.
The actress demanded compensation because she was given a bad car. Due to which she had to face a lot of trouble and inconvenience. She bought the car in the year 2020. According to the report of NDTV, Rimi Sen bought this luxury car for Rs 92 lakh from Satish Motors Private Limited, which is an authorized dealer for Jaguar Land Rover. The car had a warranty till January 2023, however, the car was used less due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
Rimi Sen listed several flaws in the car
Rimi Sen had a lot of trouble after an incident that happened on August 25, 2022, when she allegedly collided with a pole due to a faulty rear-end camera. The actress had informed the dealership about these defects, but her complaints were not adequately addressed. According to the actor, the dealer asked for proof of the defects before taking any action, which was followed by multiple repairs, which led to other problems in the car.
Rimi Sen wants a new car to replace the damaged one
Rimi Sen alleged that once she started driving the car regularly, she faced several defects, including problems with the sunroof, sound system and rear-end camera. Rimi Sen argued in her legal notice that the car has defects, both in its manufacture and the maintenance provided by the dealer. She says that the vehicle was sent for repairs more than ten times, yet the problems persisted, causing her immense mental agony and inconvenience. Rimi Sen has demanded Rs 50 crore as compensation for the troubles. The actress has also demanded Rs 10 lakh for legal expenses. She wants a replacement for the damaged car.
