Malayalam actor Mohanlal on Saturday spoke to the media for the first time after resigning from the post of President of the Malayalam Movie Artistes Association (AMMA).
The actor said that it was the right decision of the government to release the Hema Committee report. Mohanlal said that the executive committee headed by him recently resigned in view of the allegations levelled against the association after the Justice Hema Committee report was released.

The actor said, ‘Malayalam cinema is a very big industry and thousands of people work here. The Malayalam Movie-Artists Association (AMMA) could not resolve many issues that arise here.
While giving his clarification in the matter, Mohanlal said that he is not a part of any power group in the Malayalam film industry and neither was he aware of the existence of such groups in the industry.
If there is evidence against them then they should be punished
Referring to the allegations of sexual misconduct and assault against some members of the association, the actor said that if there is evidence against those who have done wrong, they should be punished.
