Mumbai. Ever since the trailer of ‘Emergency’ was released, Kangana Ranaut and her film are facing constant opposition. People of the Sikh community are demanding a ban on the film. Not only this, she is also receiving death threats. The film has been directed by Kangana and she will be seen playing the role of Indira Gandhi in it. Kangana has also expressed concern about her safety amid the release of the film. Recently, in an interview, Kangana reacted to these threats. She said that she will not let the threats affect the release of the film.
Kangana Ranaut said in Aap Ki Adalat, “You cannot scare me. These people cannot scare me. I will not let the voice of this country die. I will not let the rights of the Constitution be abolished in this country. Not only me, every artist should have freedom of expression. No one can suppress the voice of truth. These people can threaten me, they can say whatever they want to me, they can threaten to kill me, they can do anything, I will not let the voice of this country die.”
Kangana Ranaut further said, “Because if I step back, then these people will not let any artist rise tomorrow. They will silence everyone by intimidating them and will sideline them and write a different history of their own. This has happened to us before as well. We have read a different version of history. So we will not let that happen. We have seen it ourselves… we also have to do something for the country, right? We have taken food and water from the soil of this country.”
Earlier this week, Kangana Ranaut had claimed that the film was facing trouble in getting a certificate from the censor board due to receiving death threats. She shared a video on her X handle in which she alleged that she was being asked to remove scenes related to Indira Gandhi’s assassination and Bhindranwale from Emergency.
