Bharat Dev Verma, husband of actress Munmun Sen and father of Raima Sen and Riya Sen, passed away today in Kolkata. Today on 19th November, Bharat Deb Verma breathed his last at around 9 am in his home in Kolkata.
According to reports, as soon as Bharat Deb Verma’s health deteriorated, an ambulance was called from a private hospital in Dhakuria, Kolkata to take her to the hospital. He died before the ambulance could reach. He was 83 years old.
Due to the sudden departure of her husband from this world, a mountain of sorrow fell on Munmun Sen. Actress Raima Sen has left for Kolkata after hearing the news of her father’s demise. When this news was received, she was shooting in Jaipur.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed grief over the demise of Bharat Dev Verma. He tweeted, ‘I am saddened by the demise of Bharat Dev Verma, Munmun Sen’s husband and my great well-wisher. His demise is a big loss for me.
Bharat Dev Varma belongs to the royal family. He belonged to the royal family of Tripura. Bharat’s mother Ila Devi was the princess of Cooch Behar and elder sister of Queen Gayatri Devi of Jaipur. Bharat’s grandmother Indira was the only daughter of Maharaja Serji Rao Gaekwad III of Vadodara. He was married to actress Munmun Sen. He is the father of actresses Raima Sen and Riya Sen.
