Ravi Chopra’s wife revealed the film after years.

New Delhi. Ravi Chopra’s film ‘Baghban’ was released in the year 2003. In this, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan and Mahima Chaudhary were seen in important characters. The film proved to be a big hit at the box office. By the way, this film had to face many difficulties in reaching the theater. Recently, Ravi Chopra’s wife Renu Chopra openly told about the challenges during making a film and distributing.

In an interview given to Pinkvilla, Renu Chopra revealed that it was not an easy task to find a distributor for ‘Baghban’, as most of the projects were released as old. The film did not run in the theater for the first four days (from Friday to Monday). Ravi felt why he made this film. But everything changed by Tuesday and the film gained momentum.

Distributers pulled hands
Renu Chopra said, ‘The gardener was almost ready, but no distributor was ready to take the film. He said that it is a very outdated film. In those days, the career of Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) was going through a difficult period. He returned from Mohabbatein and Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Then someone suggested to Ravi that you take Salman Khan in the guest appearance.

Salman Khan immediately filled up
After this Ravi Chopra reached his house to meet Salman Khan. Renu told, ‘Ravi reached Salman’s two -room apartment. He is a very simple person. All Khan Bhai was exercising there. One by one he came out in shorts, which made Ravi felt that he might have worn more clothes. When Salman heard about the role, he immediately said yes and said that I liked this boy very much. I feel the same about my parents. I worship them and I will do this role. He did not ask about the fees, just wanted to know where to come to shoot.

The film was shot in London
All the scenes of Salman were shot in London. He placed only one condition that he should be called on the set at 11 am. Renu said, ‘He (Salman Khan) promised that I will not go until the work is completed. He used to call us for dinner every evening and you could not ask them to order. He used to order the entire menu himself. On the last day, when we tried to pay the bill, it was found that Salman had already made payment.

Ravi Chopra did not listen to his father
Renu told that BR Chopra had refused to make son Ravi Chopra ‘Baghban’, because the story of the film was outdated. He wrote ‘Baghban’ 20 years ago and many people believed that films like ‘Avatar’ and ‘Zindagi’ have already touched similar topics. But Ravi looked at it from a different perspective and prepared it as an elderly couple’s love story. Work on the script started again and was modernized.
