Amitabh Bachchan’s multistarrer film was released in the year 1988.

At that time, Manmohan Desai made a film named ‘Ganga Jamuna Saraswati’, in which he cast big stars with Amitabh Bachchan. However, the film released in 1988 flopped badly at the box office. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Ganga Jamuna Saraswati’ had big stars like Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Meenakshi Seshadri. The film flopped due to change in script
Very few people would know that initially the script of ‘Ganga Jamuna Saraswati’ was written keeping in mind Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra and Rishi Kapoor, but later there were many changes in the script of the film, after which Mithun Chakravarti with Amitabh Bachchan Cast was cast. It is believed that due to many changes in the story, ‘Ganga Jamuna Saraswati’ flopped badly at the box office.

Rishi Kapoor removed from the film
According to IMDB, when the script of the film ‘Ganga Jamuna Saraswati’ was changed, Rishi Kapoor was removed from the film. Even they were not informed about it. This made Rishi Kapoor very sad, because he had good bonding with Manmohan Desai.

Director never held camera
Initially there was a plan to keep the title ‘Amar Akbar Anthony Part 2’ of the film. In the script, Amitabh Bachchan was written to Gangaram, Jitendra as Saraswati Chandra for Jamunadas and Rishi Kapoor. But due to the change in the story, Jitendra left the film and was replaced by Mithun Chakraborty. After the beating of ‘Ganga Jamuna Saraswati’, Manmohan Desai made a complete distance from the direction. This as a director proved to be the last film of his career.
