Mumbai. The era of sequels and remake films is going on in the film industry. If any film is becoming a superhit or blockbuster, the makers are immediately betting on it. For the past few days, there has been talk of a sequel to the 2018 crime thriller ‘Andhadhun’. This is a cult crime thriller film. This film was directed by Sriram Raghavan. It stars Tabu, Radhika Apte and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles. Even after 6 years of the film’s release, its popularity among the people has not decreased.
‘Andhadhun’ has recently completed 6 years. Director Sriram Raghavan was asked whether he was planning to make a sequel. He told Times Now that he knows the audience likes the film and is connected to it. But everyone working on the film has moved on. The film’s co-writer Hemant Rao is making his own films.
Talking further about the Andhadhun sequel, Sriram Raghavan said that he is not ruling out the possibility of making ‘Andhadhun’. He said, “Today, when it completes 6 years, it would be the right time for the ‘Andhadhun’ team to work together again. If we find the right story for a sequel, why not make it?”
Sriram Ramghavan further said, “However, we cannot make a sequel just to make money. If we do this, the fans who are now demanding a sequel will blame us for disappointing them. ‘Andhadhun’ has now become a cult film. We should respect it and not be in a hurry to become ‘Andhadhun ka Baap’ or anything like that.”
Sriram Raghavan was also asked whether ‘Andhadhun’ has become his signature movie or not. The director said that he is happy to know this, but he is also proud of his film ‘Merry Christmas’, which will be released in 2024, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. He hopes that his next release ‘Ikkis’ will also get the same love. ‘The Archies’ star Agastya Nanda is in this film.
