American devices maker Apple’s iPad is getting strong demand. iPad sales have increased almost 10 times in the recently organized Great Indian Festival Sale of e-commerce company Amazon. With this, the sales of Samsung tablets in South Korea have increased by almost five times.

Saurabh Srivastava, vice president of Amazon’s unit in the country, said, “Apple and Samsung’s products have received a good response in the tablets segment. The sales of Apple’s tablets have increased almost 10 times on a year-on-year basis and those of Samsung’s.” It has increased almost five times.” More than 85 percent of customers in Amazon’s festival sale were from non-metro cities. Earlier this week, Apple CEO Tim Cook had emphasized the growing importance of India. The company’s sales in the quarter ending September were better than expected. Apple’s sales in the last quarter were approximately $94.9 billion. This is an increase of 6.1 percent compared to the same quarter last year.

Cook had said that Apple has made a record of revenue in India in the September quarter. He said that the company is preparing to open four new stores in the country. The company’s iPhone 16 series is getting good response from customers. Cook said that sales of iPads have also increased. The sales of these tablets of the company have increased in double-digits. Usually, the demand for smartphones and other tech devices picks up with the beginning of the festive season in September. Apple’s stores opened last year in Select Citywalk in Saket, Delhi and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai are performing well. The company plans to open new stores in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune.

Apple has listed many jobs on its website in the country. These include full-time and part-time jobs. The company is expected to hire approximately 400 workers for the new stores. The revenue of Apple’s stores in the first year of sales was approximately Rs 800 crore. In this, the share of Delhi’s Saket store is 60 percent. In the last few years, the company has also taken steps to shift some part of its manufacturing to China.
