Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet starrer film ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ will be engaged in the theater on 21 February. Arjun, Bhumi and Rakul’s comedy is being liked by the audience in the film’s trailer.
Arjun and Bhumi will be seen together on screen for the second time. Earlier, both of them acted in the film ‘The Lady Killer’ in the year 2023. It was a crime thriller movie.
In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Arjun and Bhumi have shared their experience regarding the film. Also, as a co-star, we have spoken on each other’s merits.

Question- Your film claims that it is a circle, not love triangle. Tell me about this love circle?
Answer/ Bhoomi- There is a lot of fun in our film. The energy you are feeling by talking to us, similar energy will be seen in our film. We have a lot of fun because the film is comedy. Comedy is the most difficult task. Our director Mudassar Aziz is very amazing. He had dragged all of us so that we did not spread. He had pushed us so much that whatever the Panchaj has been written, he could be beautifully come to the dialogue delivery.
Mudassar Aziz has previously made films like ‘husband wife and wo’, ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein’.
The film has a lot of confusion. There are two women. Rakul Preet, who is playing the role of Antara Khanna in the film. I am playing the role of Prabhleen Kaur Dhillon. I am from Amritsar and Rakul is from South Delhi. There is a lot of clash in the ideology of both of us. Arjun has to bear the heat of that clash. Our family also gets involved in this confusion and raita spreads.
Arjun- Kailash gets trapped in poor clash.
Question- Bhoomi, Arjun’s way of doing comedy is different, their reactions seem very comfortable, what will you say about it?
Answer/ Bhoomi- I would like to tell you that the more straight face Arjun looks, the more fun he is as a human being. When you are spotted, it comes with a lot of intelligence and security. As long as I stay with Arjun, I just keep laughing. I call them whenever my mood is bad. I know that I will feel good by talking to them. Arjun’s personality is heavy but he is really very funny.
Question- Comedy is a difficult genre. The big comedians have been in their real life. What is your process to do a comedy film?
Answer/Arjun- If I tell myself, I believe in satire in personal life. Reaction to the things that are happening around you. He is a different kind of humor. But when you do the film, you have to flow in the tone of the film. You need to understand what the director wants from you. In comedy, you have to fully trust your director.
You have to make an off camera chemistry with your co-actor. You have to be comfortable. If you start thinking what I would look like while doing this, then you will not be able to do comedy. You have to forget everything on the set and come from fresh mind. Only then you can take things on yourself and will be able to deliver it in your dialogue. I think you have to relax at that moment more than preparation for comedy.
Apart from these two, actors like Shakti Kapoor, Kanwaljeet Singh, Dino Moriya, Aditya Seal will also be seen in this film.
The best comic timing of us is of land. Its timing is excellent. And the way it expresses itself, it is amazing. Some faces are very beautiful but are unable to express. They remain buried in beauty. But the land has an innocent face and mischievous eyes. And it takes full advantage of this. It is really a very good comic actor.
Question- Bhoomi your co-star praised you so much. Now you tell your process.
Answer/ Bhoomi- I have no process. I do not decide anything. The method of each film and the character of the character is different. This is my second film with Mudassar Sir. He is quite clear what kind of performance he needs. I had a lot of discount to improvise in ‘husband and wife and that’. But for this film, he told me that I have written the dialogue very thoughtfully so that the punch comes out properly. So take care of that, you can do what you want to experiment back and forth. I had a good tuning with my director, due to which I could do well.
Question- Arjun looks quite secure even after being a multistarrer film. The reason behind that?
Answer/Bhumi- Of course, I would like to say for Arjun that he is one of the most secure co-actor with whom I have worked together. Arjun does not have any insufficiency from his fellow artists and his performance. Very rarely it happens when the film’s hero on the set worries the film more than himself. Arjun is like coconut. Which is strict from outside but is soft from inside. They encourage people. Whoever has worked with Arjuna, he would know that Arjun is a very secure, kind and teaching person.
Question- Arjun, you praise your co-star’s heart openly, creating a spontaneous atmosphere on the set. How do you do this?
Answer/Arjun- I am very fond of film making. I enjoy making a film. If I see honest people nearby, I think they should be promoted. If someone is doing a good job, then why should there be a inscription? You should be happy that this will help your film. If Alia does not give her best in ‘2 States’, then that film is probably not as effective. If you suspect your ability, then only you feel insecure.
I know my ability. Perhaps I have been raising like this. Perhaps I am the son of a producer, so I understand the importance of a co-actor. I always believe in speaking on the truth and mouth. If I do not like anything, I will speak on my mouth and if someone likes it, I will promote it. I like to do a multistarrer film. You look at my films.
Question- Both of you have seen each other’s journey. How much has changed from the beginning so far?
Answer/Arjun- When Bhoomi auditioned, she did not even know that she would become an actor. Those people were looking for someone else for ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. Bhoomi had performed that for just reference. When YRF’s casting director Shanu Sharma told me about the land, I was very happy. He was the first to cast both of us. He is also our friend. For the first time I saw that someone’s obesity is being used as body positivity. I have suffered an over -weight phase. The film people dared to cast the Bhoomi. It was the courage in the land that she played that role in the same way. You may not have seen land -like debut in our profession. It is not an easy thing to come from that journey to this film. Bhoomi has done a lot of work on itself. I am very proud about the land.
Arjun and Bhumi first appeared in the film ‘The Lady Killer’ in 2023.
Answer/Bhumi- I and Arjun almost started a career together. Before Arjun ‘Ishaqzaade’, I was doing a film called ‘Virus Diwan’, when I started the work of casting assistant. During that time I used to see them. I have been a small part in his process. I casting Ishaqzaade. The biggest complex I have for Arjun on Humanity ground is that even after becoming a star, it did not change towards me. It has happened to me many times that the actor I have auditioned, they did not even see me after becoming a star. But Arjun has been the same with everyone and he is a sign of being a good person.
As far as career is concerned, his ‘Ishaqzaade’ is my most favorite film. ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky’ was also a very beautiful film. He came out in both films. He is a very sensitive actor. That too with strength. I am his big fan. Arjun is not actually desi, but he does these characters in a great way. Whenever they do this roll, the fan girl inside me comes out.
