The government on Monday said that passengers in flights will be able to use internet service through Wi-Fi only when electronic devices are allowed to be used in the aircraft after reaching an altitude of 3,000 meters in the Indian air space.

This clarification from the government has come under the new Flight and Maritime Connectivity (Amendment) Rules, 2024. Earlier in 2018, it was made mandatory that mobile communication service could be started in the aircraft only then.
