Giant company Ericsson said on Tuesday that the number of 5G customers in India is expected to triple to 97 crore by the year 2030. This will be 74 percent of the total mobile customer base. This estimate has been made in the research report of Ericsson ConsumerLab. According to this, applications related to generative AI are playing a role in expanding 5G. Ericsson Mobility’s report estimates that the number of 5G subscribers in India will exceed 27 crore by the end of 2024, which will be 23 percent of the total mobile subscribers in the country.

According to the report, the number of 5G users in India is expected to reach approximately 97 crore by the end of this decade. This is 74 percent of total mobile subscribers.

The report says that by the end of 2024, the number of 5G users worldwide is expected to be around 2.3 billion, which will be 25 percent of the total mobile customers. At the same time, by 2030 the number of 5G users is likely to reach 6.3 billion globally.

The report says that in the year 2027, the number of 5G users in the world is expected to exceed 4G users. It is expected in the report that 6G network can be launched in the world in the beginning of the year 2030.

According to the report, the number of smartphone users using Gen AI apps is expected to increase in the next 5 years. It has been said that about 67 percent of 5G smartphone users in India will start using Gen AI apps in the next five years.
