Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, actress and CINTAA President, Poonam Dhillon talked about the event. He said, ‘This year was his 100th anniversary, so we chose this theme – songs of Raj Kapoor ji. His music is unique, like an immortal heritage. We will miss him and enjoy his songs. Will listen to songs of Suresh Wadkar, Shailendra Singh and Mukesh ji. Mukesh ji’s songs will be in the voice of Nitin Mukesh. Sudesh Bhosle will also be there, who will sing songs of Manna Dey and Mohammed Rafi. Kavita Krishnamurthy and Madhushree will also sing Lata Mangeshkar’s songs. This event of CINTAA is a tribute, where we will always remember the contribution of Raj Kapoor ji.

He further said, ‘Raj Kapoor was not just a filmmaker, he was a real heritage of cinema. There was a magic in his films – love, laughter, and romance were everything. His dedication to his art and work will always inspire us.

During the conversation, he also shared some memories related to Raj Kapoor’s famous Holi parties. ‘His Holi parties were always special. Everyone used to celebrate together in RK’s studio. There was an atmosphere of fun and warmth there. Everyone was welcome in his cottage. His Holi party was very famous. Everyone used to come there and as soon as you went in, you were thrown into the tank – no matter how prepared you were, you were drenched when you came out. This party was very fun-filled, full of laughter and music.

Lastly, the actress talked about Raj Kapoor’s strict nature. ‘See, there was some hesitation in front of him also. People were a little afraid of Raj ji. But there was also a lovely and friendly aspect to his nature. His understanding and love of music could not be matched by anyone else. His work and his understanding were unique.
