So he said that it was less than 1% of the total box office collection of the film. ‘Dangal’ earned approximately Rs 2,000 crore at the global box office. When the anchor asked whether the Phogat family got ₹20 crore from the producers, she clarified that it was half of 10%, approximately Rs 1 crore. This deal was finalized at the scripting stage with director Nitish Tiwari’s team even before Aamir Khan came on board as producer.
Makers wanted to change the name
