Dhanbad railway station took a unique initiative on International Women’s Day. The manager handed over the entire functioning of the station to women railway workers.

Women employees took responsibility for every department of the station. Women did the entire work ranging from booking office to ticket check, security and train operations. The post of Chief Booking Supervisor was also handled by a female employee.

Women personnel also had active participation in Railway Protection Force

Women employees were deployed in all the important departments of the station. These included station master, RRI operating control, ticket counter, control room and inquiry center. Women also played the role of Yard, Guard Store and TC. Women personnel also had active participation in the Railway Protection Force.

MU train was completed by women employees

As a special achievement, an MU train was completed by women employees. Women’s ticket checker said that the entire charge of the station has increased confidence in them. He also said that women should not be limited to women’s day only.
