Kalki Koechlin shared the difficulties she faced during pregnancy and its initial stages. She told that becoming a mother was physically and mentally challenging, but now her daughter Sappho has become a friend to her.

New Delhi : Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin is enjoying motherhood with her daughter Sappho. Kalki talked about the difficulties of pregnancy and early parenting. Kalki gave birth to a daughter with her partner Guy Hershberg in 2020. Now, 5 years later, she shares an adorable bond with her daughter. Kalki told that the time during pregnancy and after the birth of the child was quite challenging physically and mentally.

Kalki Koechlin said, ‘9 months of pregnancy and the time after the birth of the child takes a lot from your body. At that time it seems as if your body is working only for the child. The child gets nutrition and energy and nothing is left for the mother. The first six months were very difficult. Didn’t get enough sleep, had to stay awake all night. At that time I thought, who am I? Where is my life? It was all very difficult, but hardly anyone talks about it.”

Beautiful relationship between mother and daughter

Kalki has developed a special relationship with her daughter Sappho. He said, “My daughter has become talkative now. We keep each other’s secrets. She understands what I say and also allows me to work. “It feels like I have found a new friend.”

Memories from the sets of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’

Kalki remembered the funny moments from the sets of the film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. She told how she along with Deepika Padukone used to play pranks on Ranbir Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in the snow of Kashmir. ‘We used to put ice in his T-shirt, and in return he threw turmeric on me during the Haldi function. That moment was really memorable.

Preparation for debut in Tamil film

Kalki is now going to debut in the Tamil film ‘Nesippaya’. In this she is playing the role of a lawyer. The film is being directed by Vishnuvardhan and music has been given by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
