Earth Second Moon: The American space agency NASA has predicted that this weekend, i.e. on Sunday, September 29, Earth will see its ‘second moon’. There is no need to be too surprised, because this ‘second moon’ is an asteroid, named 2024 PT5. It is being called the second moon because the asteroid will keep revolving near our Earth for the next few months.

One from Space.com Report According to, asteroid 2024 PT5 will be visible near Earth by November 25 this year. This asteroid is part of the Arjuna Asteroid Belt. It is a belt made up of space rocks, which is at an average distance of about 150 million kilometers from the Sun in an orbit equal to the Earth’s orbit.

Scientists believe that some objects in the Arjuna Asteroid Belt may come very close to Earth. The asteroid that is coming now will not orbit the Earth completely, but will remain close to our planet till November.

Highlights from 2024 PT5
The name 2024 PT5 suggests that it has been discovered this year. According to scientists, this is the first time it has entered Earth’s orbit. It will start orbiting our planet from September 29. It will stay with Earth for two months and will move away from our planet on November 25.

2024 PT5 was first seen on August 7. Its size is up to 37 feet, equal to a large room. According to reports, an asteroid also came close to Earth in the year 2013. However, it exploded in space. It is estimated that 2024 PT5 is unlikely to collide with Earth. It will orbit about 42 lakh kilometers away from our planet.

2024 PT5 cannot be seen with naked eyes. A telescope will be needed to see it. Because it was pulled due to the gravity of the Earth, scientists are also calling this asteroid a caught fly.
