After a blockbuster like the film ‘Jawa’, Ejaz Khan, now seen in a new style in ‘Dhoom’, is sharing the screen with Prateek Gandhi and Yami Gautam. But the most important thing for him is that the trailer starts with his character.

How did they get this film? How was his experience with Yami and Prateek on the set? What did you felt to see myself in the first frame in the trailer?

Start film trailer to me – a big moment, a big feeling

Many times life gives such opportunities, for which you have been working hard for years. But when that moment really comes out, it becomes difficult to believe. When I had stepped into this industry, I did not even think that the trailer of a film would start with me. This is the reason that when I saw the trailer for the first time, the heart started beating fast.

Sometimes it seems that I really detect all this? A strange imposter syndrome feels – as if someone will come now and say ‘Hey, you were accidentally chosen.’ But then I remind myself that all this did not happen suddenly. Whatever has been achieved, it is the result of years of hard work, struggle and urge to learn.

I also had a glimpse in the trailer of the film ‘Jawa’. Now the trailer of this film is also starting with my entry. This is not just a big opportunity for me, but a dream is true. Whenever I choose a character, it is my endeavor not to have just one name, but leave a strong impression in the story. Perhaps this is the reason why my character gets an important place in the trailer. But I do not just consider it the result of my hard work – this is my luck and the strength of the trust that filmmakers show on me.

His belief is the biggest inspiration for me. This trust gives me the courage to do better every time he is, the passion to move forward. This is not just the beginning of a trailer, feels like a new beginning of my career. And thinking about this, I prepare myself every day – this is just the beginning, there is still a lot to do.

Travel from casting call to set

I received a call from the casting agency. In recent years, I have done many best projects through these agencies. This time too, he said that there is a strong character, but it needs a little hooliganism. I thought- ‘Okay man, it will be fun.’

When he went on the audition, he asked to do a light comedy. He was shocked to hear, but also looked interesting. Earlier he had done comedy on TV, then intense characters started getting – police officer, CID etc. In this film, I got a chance to separate, which was a big exciting for me.

It was a pleasure to see Yami Gautam and Prateek Gandhi in the cast. I am a big fan of Prateik’s ‘Scam 1992’ work and Yami is a wonderful actress. He is so natural that while doing the scene with him, he kept thinking- ‘Man, how can someone be so talented and beautiful?’

Set environment and special advice of director

Yami and Prateek are superstars, but never felt so on the set. Both were very supportive and gave full space to co-actors. Director Rishabh gave me an open hand. He said- ‘Don’t act, just live the character.’ He explained that my character is not a comic, but the situation makes him funny. Therefore, there was no need for overacting, just had to react to the natural according to the situation.

Yami and Prateek looks as powerful as on-screen, the more comfortable and sociable in real life. The way they give strong performance in their characters, they are quite different and unique in real life Personality They are human beings.

The way he plays serious, fun or intense roles in films, his nature is different in real life. They can be a fun, light or very down to meanings. On the set, they do not have an attitude like a superstar, but are very comfortable, sociable and co-stars to feel comfortable.
