Dainik Bhaskar had exposed the black marketing of the Coldplay concert to be held in January 2025 by conducting a sting operation on September 24. A complaint has been filed against ticket booking app Book My Show after it was revealed that 3500 concert tickets were being sold for Rs 70 thousand.

In this case, Mumbai Police had summoned Ashish Hemarajani, CEO and co-founder of Book My Show app, on September 27, although he has not appeared before the investigating officers in the first summons. Now he has been summoned again to record his statement. According to the second summons sent on Sunday, he will have to record his statement today itself.

Let us tell you that lawyer Amit Vyas has filed a complaint against Book My Show app in EOW (Economic Offenses Wing) and has accused them of black marketing of concert tickets. In his complaint, Amit Vyas has said that ticket booking for the concert started on September 22, but the app gave access to the ticket agent first. Now those agents are doing black marketing of tickets.

Book My Show also filed a police complaint Earlier on September 25, Book My Show had filed a complaint against those selling fake Coldplay concert tickets and issued a statement saying – Book My Show is for the sale and resale of tickets for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025 in India. Not associated with Viagogo and Gigsberg and any third party.

The company had said that we strongly condemn scalping in India. There is a law to punish for doing this. We have lodged a complaint with the police. Will provide full cooperation in the investigation of the case.

Book My Show has appealed to people to avoid such scams. If someone buys a ticket from an unauthorized source, the entire risk will be his/her own. The ticket purchased may be fake.

Allegations of fraud of Rs 500 crore on Book My Show app also BYJM (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha) has also registered a complaint with EOW accusing Book My Show of fraud. Book My Show is accused of money laundering and fraud of Rs 500 crore in the name of ticket selling.

Party member Tejinder Singh Tiwana has said that Book My Show was supposed to give tickets to the people who first visited the app, however, the app created a special link for blackmarketing agents, so that they could buy tickets and sell them at expensive prices. . Those who bought tickets were put in a virtual queue, due to which they could not book tickets. Book My Show app has earned Rs 500 crore from this rigging.

He has also said that this is not the first case of ticket blackmarketing. Before this, black marketing of tickets has also taken place during the World Cup and IPL. On sites like Viagogo, a ticket worth Rs 12500 was being sold for Rs 3 lakh.

What is scaling? Scalping means buying event and music concert tickets in bulk. After this, when people do not get the tickets, then the same tickets are sold to them at an expensive price.

There is no data on tickets that are bought or sold in the black. This is straight up tax evasion. The government suffers a lot from this. The government is shown selling tickets at low rates, while outside they are sold at much higher rates.

Apart from this, common people never get tickets for such events because the tickets are already sold in black. Those who have money can easily buy tickets at high prices, but common people are deprived of it.

There is no specific law regarding counterfeiting of tickets in India. Is there any law against counterfeiting of tickets in India? Dainik Bhaskar contacted lawyer Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh to know the answer. He said, ‘There is no specific law to ban black marketing of tickets for entertainment other than cinema tickets.

At present, only sections 406, 420 of IPC or provisions of BNS and IT Act are applicable in this case. Therefore, the government should make a concrete law to stop such illegal activities.

Former ACP Mumbai Vasant Dhoble said that if fraudsters are saying such things against Book My Show then they should come forward and give clarification. Keeping their complaint in mind, action can be taken.
