Director Major Ravi had cast Amitabh Bachchan in this film only for a cameo. Big B’s role in the film was very small, so he did not even charge any fee. In the year 2010, Amitabh talked about doing the role without charging any fee. He also praised Mohanlal’s acting.
Amitabh Bachchan himself revealed
Amitabh himself wrote, ‘Mohan and the director of the film came to my house to cast me in this film and pay me my fees. For a guest cameo for the day? With Mohanlal, whom I have always respected a lot? No, no. I don’t take money for such things. I very respectfully rejected his proposal. I gave him home-made tea, shook hands, hugged him and then he left.’
