Govinda and Sunita Ahuja got married in the year 1987. The couple has two children from this relationship. Recently, Sunita and her daughter Tina made many revelations in an interview. Tina told that her maternal grandfather did not want her parents to get married. At the same time, Sunita told how many changes came in her life after marriage with the actor.
While talking to Hotterfly, Govinda’s daughter Tina said, ‘My mother made many changes in her life after marriage. She comes from a rich family, whereas at that time my father was not that strong financially and was struggling in the film industry. When my maternal grandfather came to know about the love story of my parents, he became very angry.
He had asked his mother – Why do you want to marry an aspiring actor? He was not at all happy with this marriage and did not even attend the wedding. But my grandmother liked father very much. She always used to say what a handsome boy he is and how much he takes care of his daughter (Sunita).
In the same interview, Sunita said, ‘Before marriage, I lived in a small family. But when I married Govinda, I had to live with a big family. I was just 18 years old when I married him. I was 19 years old at the time of Tina’s birth, so at that time I too was like a child.
If Sunita is to be believed, she loves Govinda very much. Govinda had told her even before the marriage that her mother would be the head of the house as long as she was alive, and Sunita would also have to obey everything she said.
How was Sunita-Govinda’s love story? Sunita was the sister in law of Govinda’s uncle Anand Singh. Both of them fell in love with each other after just a few meetings. One day while returning from the party, Govinda’s hand accidentally touched Sunita’s hand but both of them did not remove their hands and thus both agreed to love each other. After being in a relationship for a few days, Govinda and Sunita got married on 11 December 1987.
