After the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a debate has erupted between two senior actors of the film industry on the film made on him. In fact, some time ago a journalist criticized the film The Accidental Prime Minister made on Manmohan Singh, in which Anupam Kher played his role. Hansal Mehta, the creative director of the film, agreed to this criticism, on which Anupam Kher got enraged.
In fact, writer and journalist Veer Sanghvi shared a social media post alleging that the film The Accidental Prime Minister has tarnished the image of Manmohan Singh.
In response to his post, the film’s creative director Hansal Mehta wrote ‘+100’ and agreed in hushed words.
Anupam Kher got angry and said – Double standard
The film’s lead actor Anupam Kher got furious as soon as Hansal Mehta’s statement criticizing his own film came. He wrote in reply, there is no hypocritical Veer Sanghvi in this thread. They have the freedom not to like any film. But Hansal Mehta is the creative director of The Accident Prime Minister. Who was present during the entire shooting of the film in England. They are giving their creative input and may have also charged fees for it.
Further Anupam Kher wrote, for him to say 100% on Veer Sanghvi’s comment is very wrong and full of double standards. Not that I agree with Sanghvi but we are all capable of doing bad or indifferent things. But we should adopt it. It is not that Hansal Mehta is trying to earn some money from some special class of people. Hey Hansal, grow up. I still have all our videos and pictures from the shoot.
Along with this, Anupam Kher has also shared Hansal Mehta’s tweet made in 2019, in which he praised the film The Accidental Prime Minister and its actors.
As the controversy escalated, Hansal Mehta also retaliated. He posted and wrote, Mr. Kher, obviously I own my mistakes. I can admit that I made a mistake. Can’t I sir? I did my job as professionally as I was allowed to. Can you deny it? But that doesn’t mean I have to keep defending the film. On the issue of money making and hypocrisy, I would respectfully say that you see people as you see yourself.
Hansal Mehta apologized, said- we will talk together whenever you want
After the controversy escalated, Hansal Mehta wrote in his post, Anupam Kher sir, you can say whatever you want. You can call me by any name. I’m sorry if I hurt you. Sending you love. Whenever you feel, we will clear this matter together. I don’t want to encourage trolls.
Let us tell you that the film released in the year 2019 was based on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Anupam Kher played his role in the film. The director of the film was Vijay Gutte, while Hansal Mehta, along with being the creative director of the film, also played the role of former Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik in it.
