Honda Launches Activa Electric in India, Price of Rs 1.17 Lakh, Range of 102 Km, Ola Electric

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter (HMSI), one of the big two-wheeler companies, has launched the electric version of its widely sold scooter Activa in the country. Activa E was introduced along with the QC1 electric scooter in November last year. Its price is around Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, the design of its electric version is completely different from the Activa with internal combustion engine (ICE). It has LED headlamps along with turn indicators on both sides. Along with this, LED DRL has been provided in the front of Activa Electric. Activa e is visible in its rear. This electric scooter has a swappable battery system under the seat which consists of two 1.5 kWh batteries. The range of Activa Electric on a single charge is approximately 102 kilometers. It has three riding modes – Standard, Sport and Econ. Recently booking of Activa Electric was started.

It has been provided with advanced features like Honda RoadSync Duo, through which riders can connect their smartphone via Bluetooth to make phone calls as well as use navigation. Activa E will compete with electric scooters from Ola Electric, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto.

The company has introduced QC 1 especially for the Indian market. Its design is similar to Activa Electric. This electric scooter has a 1.5 kWh battery pack. QC 1 has a range of approximately 80 kilometers on a single charge. Its 5 inch LCD instrument panel shows speed and battery level. QC 1 has a USB Type-C port for charging devices. Sales of electric scooters have increased rapidly in the last few years. HMSI had said that the delivery of Activa Electric will start in Bengaluru from February. After this, the sale of this electric scooter will start in Delhi and Mumbai in April. Battery swapping service for this electric scooter will be provided by the company’s subsidiary Honda Power Pack Energy (HEID). HEID said that his plan is to create battery swapping stations in every city before the sale of this electric scooter. The company aims to have battery swapping stations within a radius of five kilometers to increase battery penetration.
