New Delhi: Rajkummar Rao was dropped from the project for one reason or another. However, the actor has said that such instances highlight the failure of those producers, not him. Rajkummar recently appeared on Audible’s podcast ‘The Longest Interview’ and said, ‘Everything was going well on some occasions, but then for some reason I was removed from the film. It was not my failure. It was their failure that they did not handle it properly. Those experiences taught me to always be prepared.’
Rajkummar Rao told that looking back he felt that maybe it was for the best. The film never got made or the characters were not impressive. He said, ‘I believe that when the universe is guiding you, everything falls into place.’ He also told how his experience was working on ‘Kai Po Che’. Sharing an interesting story, he said, ‘I enjoyed reading Chetan Bhagat’s The Three Mistakes of My Life. Earlier, another of his books ‘One Night at the Call Center’ had already been made into a film, so I knew that he was a writer whose books were being made into films.’

The actor further added, ‘I still remember, when I was new in Bombay, I read Three Mistakes of My Life and really put it out in the universe. There are three characters in the book and I hoped that if ever a movie was made, I would get one of those roles. I didn’t say which role it would be, but I was really keen on it and then Kai Po Che happened. It’s unrealistic but true.’
