New Delhi: Director and producer Tahira Kashyap on Sunday shared memories related to the first Lohri of her marriage, ahead of the festival of Lohri. He told how he celebrated this festival with his family. She is the wife of Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Talking about her experience, she said, ‘In Punjabi culture, the first Lohri after marriage is celebrated with great pomp. My in-laws had organized a party for us. On this occasion, newly married couples roam around the bonfire. Along with this we used to enjoy gajak (chikki), peanuts and popcorn.

Tahira Kashyap further said, ‘During this time, the last two lines of the song make me laugh a lot. Their literal meaning is, ‘Give us Lohri, may your pair last long, whether you cry or beat your head later.’ This blessing is given to Punjabi couples by their elders. Tahira Kashyap made her directorial debut with ‘Sharmaji Ki Beti’. Known for her contribution in inspiring the new generation and women, Tahira received immense love for the film. Meanwhile, her husband Ayushmann Khurrana is shooting for his upcoming film ‘Thama’. Some exciting shooting of the film is going on right now.

It has been written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Phulara and produced jointly by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik.
