He told that despite being famous, he was on the verge of bankruptcy. He got a shock during his difficult times when his car was stolen. Anupam Kher told that even the policemen were laughing at his misfortune.
While talking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Anupam Kher said, ‘In the year 2003-2004, I was almost on the verge of bankruptcy in the pursuit of becoming a TV tycoon. Well, I had a name and was also doing good films. But the truth is that offices and houses were also going to be sold. Then one day I remembered that when I was a struggling actor, I used to go to Mahalakshmi temple. There he used to pray that God, please make me something, for how long will you let me wander. But when I became an actor, I did not go to that temple. I felt that this was the wrath of God, due to which I was having bad days.
