New Delhi. The National Film Awards 2024 was held today (8 October) at Vigyan Bhawan, where the 70th National Award winners were honored by President Draupadi Murmu. This year, Rishabh Shetty won the Best Actor award. Whereas, Nithya Menen and Mansi Parekh won the Best Actress award, while Mithun Chakraborty was honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

After receiving ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award’, Mithun made everyone emotional with his speech. He said that when he came into the film industry, everyone told him that he could never become an actor because his complexion was very dark. Mithun never gave up and won people’s hearts with his dance. He said that you must have noticed that whenever he danced, the camera remained towards his feet only.

Mithun Chakraborty Said that he did not stop, he kept dancing as long as the camera remained on his feet, where there was no facial work. He struggled a lot and gives credit to his own hard work for getting to where he is today. Earlier he had many complaints against God, but all those complaints ended after receiving this award. Besides, he also thanked God.

Other winners at the 70th National Film Awards include ‘Aattam’ (Best Feature Film), Sooraj Barjatya (Best Director for ‘Unchai’), Neena Gupta (Best Supporting Actress for ‘Unchai’), Pavan Malhotra (Best Supporting Actor for ‘Fauja’ ‘), ‘Kantara’ (Best Entertaining Feature Film) and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ (Best Action Direction and Best Kannada Film).

At the same time, Jani Master was to receive the Best Choreography award for ‘Thiruchitrambalam’, but his award was suspended due to the ongoing rape case against him. Let us tell you, this year, films released in 2022 were honored with awards. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this awards ceremony is being delayed by a year.
