New Delhi. Sonu Sood is the real hero of Bollywood, who became the messiah for the people during the Corona period in the year 2020. He was called the national hero of migrant laborers and the needy. Even today there is a long crowd of people waiting for help at his house. After seeing his sense of service to the people, many people made statements and said that he is doing it because he wants to enter politics. Now the actor broke his silence on this matter and told that he received many good offers to join politics, but he rejected all those high profile offers.
During the lockdown, Sonu even mortgaged his property to help the people stranded in the country and abroad. In a recent interview with Humans of Bombay, Sonu revealed that he had received offers for important political roles, including offers to become the Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister.
Very influential people of the country also offered Rajya Sabha seat.
Sonu Sood said, ‘I had also received the offer to become the Chief Minister. When I refused, he said, ‘Then become the Deputy Chief Minister.’ These were very influential people of the country, who even offered me a Rajya Sabha seat. He said, ‘Take membership of Rajya Sabha. Join us, you don’t need to fight anything in politics. It was an exciting time, when such powerful people want to meet you and encourage you to make a change in the world.
Oxygen levels decrease as you rise higher.
Reflecting on these offers, Sood shared his personal philosophy. He said, ‘When you start gaining popularity you move up in life. But oxygen levels are less at altitude. We want to rise higher, but it is important how long we can stay there. He further said, ‘Someone told me, ‘Big people are offering you posts like Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister, and you are refusing? Do you know how many big actors in your industry cannot even dream of this, and you are refusing?
Why did you decide to stay away from politics?
However, Sonu insisted that his decision to stay away from politics was based on his values. People join politics for two reasons, to earn money or to gain power. I’m not interested in any of this. If it’s about helping people, I’m already doing that. Right now, I don’t need to ask anyone. If I want to help someone, no matter their caste, language, or religion, I do it on my own. Tomorrow, I may be answerable to someone else and that scares me. I am afraid of losing my freedom.
‘I’m not ready yet’
Acknowledging the privileges that come with political positions, Sonu said, ‘I will get high security, a house in Delhi, and an important post. Someone told me that I would have a letterhead with a government seal, which has a lot of power. I said, ‘That sounds good, and I like hearing it.’ But I am not ready yet. Maybe after a few years, I’ll feel different. Who knows?’

Sonu Sood, who is preparing for the release of his upcoming film ‘Fateh’, expressed his deep love for cinema and said, ‘There is still an actor-director inside me. I like this world. I love movies. Maybe when I feel like I’ve done enough here, I’ll think of something else. But as of now, I am an actor and I will continue acting and directing.
