For this reason I rejected a very good film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Javed Akhtar further said, ‘I had written the first song for the film, Koi Mil Gaya, Main To Hil Gaya, which was also recorded. But when Karan Johar decided the title of the film, I refused to work on the film. I refused to work in a film whose title was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I thought something happens, what happens? I didn’t like the title at all. Now I regret it, but at that time I had refused.
