The Malayalam film industry is constantly in controversies. Since the Hema Committee report came out, many actresses have been speaking openly about the incidents of harassment that happened to them. Some time ago, actress Meenu Munir had accused Malayalam actors Mukesh and Jayasurya and many others of harassing her on the set through a Facebook post, after which she filed a written complaint. Now after a long time, actor Jayasurya has broken his silence on these allegations. Jayasurya says that these allegations have left him devastated, although all these allegations are baseless.
Actor Jayasurya celebrated his 46th birthday on 31 August. On this occasion, he shared a post from his official Instagram account and gave a clarification. He wrote, Thank you to all those who wished me on my birthday and supported me. I and my family were in the US for the last few months due to some personal work commitments. And during this time, two false allegations of sexual harassment were made against me. Naturally, this devastated me and my family, but they supported me.
The actor further wrote, I will proceed legally. My legal team is working on this case. It is very easy for people who lack conscience to make false allegations. I just hope that someone understands that facing a false allegation of harassment is as painful as the harassment itself. Lies always spread more than the truth. I hope the truth prevails.
Jayasuriya will return to India soon
Actor Jayasurya has said in his post that he will soon return to India after finishing his work in America. He has written, every possible effort will continue to be made to prove myself innocent. I have full faith in the law and order. Thanks also to those who made this birthday painful.
