Mumbai. The trailer of Pan India film Kanguva starring Bobby Deol, Surya and Disha Patani has been launched. In this one and a half minute long trailer, only Bobby and Surya are shining. There is only action and fight. There are only two dialogues. But this will take you to a different world. The makers have not revealed much about the film from the trailer. But it is clearly visible that there are two timelines in the film. One is present and the other is centuries old. Surya’s action avatar is being seen in both the timelines.
‘Kanguva’ starts with dense forests and mountains. Then many TV screens and people are visible. Then in the background a woman is seen introducing Kanguva. Amidst the firing action, people are seen fighting with swords and daggers in the dense forests. Two different looks of Surya can be seen in the combination of present and past.
Bobby Deol has been shown in an age old look. He looks quite violent. The trailers are quite interesting. The makers have not allowed anything to be revealed but words like ‘betrayal’, ‘resurrection’ and ‘honor’ show that this is a revenge story.
Suriya told PTI during the promotion of ‘Kanguva’ that the idea behind making ‘Kanguva’ was to bring a big film in India. “We love movies and shows like ‘Braveheart’, ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Apocalypto’. We are impressed by them and have seen them many times. The thought came to our mind, ‘When will we make such films?'”
Surya further added, “Shiva created the idea of what if we went back a few hundred years… what if our people lived such a life and their circumstances were complex? And this is how the whole thing came to light.” Let us tell you that the makers have spent Rs 350 crores in making this film. This is the second film to be made and released on such a budget. Before this, ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ was also made for Rs 350 crore and proved to be a disaster at the box office.
