The film Hum Saath Saath Hain was released in the year 1999. Every character and their pairing of this film was very much liked. Mahesh Thakur, who played the role of Mahesha Babu in the film. He narrated an anecdote related to Neelam Kothari. He said that an accident had happened during the shooting of the film, due to which Neemal got angry with him. But Salman Khan kept teasing Neelam continuously.

Mahesh Thakur told Radio Nasha, ‘We were shooting the song ‘ABCD’. I was having some difficulty in the dance steps during the song. We had to move our bodies and the bus was also moving according to the road, so I missed my step and fell on Neelam ji. Because of this she got a little angry with me and said ‘What are you doing?’ After this Salman, Saif and Tabu started making fun of him.

Mahesh said, ‘After this, there was continuous joking on the set, due to which everyone’s mood became very light and good. Neelam ji also ignored this thing again. Then we all became good friends. There was very good coordination between all of us.

Karisma Kapoor also shared memories of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain in the dance reality show India Best Dancer-3. The actress had told how she and Tabu would often convince Sonali Bendre to leave her book and join the conversation, as Sonali would often read her book silently during the shooting.

Karisma Kapoor said, ‘We all miss the days of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain very much. There are many good memories related to this film. Sonali was very quiet, and I was more talkative on the set. Sonali was engrossed in her book, while Tabu and I often wondered, ‘What is she reading?’ Why doesn’t she talk to us? Tabu and I used to talk about films and song shoots, while Sonali remained quietly reading her book. When both of us would call her for lunch, she would say that I am a vegetarian, so I only eat salad,’ and I would say okay, but come with salad!’
