Mahindra & Mahindra has today (September 25) launched the 4×4 variant of the Thar Rocks. This is the 5-door version of the company’s most popular SUV Thar, which was launched in the Indian market on September 2 with a rear wheel drive option.

Mahindra has introduced the 4-wheel-drive variant of Thar Rocks only with diesel engine. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 18.79 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India). The 4 wheel drive option is not available in the petrol version.

Compared to the rear wheel drive (RWD) variants, its all wheel drive variants are priced Rs 2 lakh higher. The price of Mahindra Thar Rocks RWD variants ranges from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh. Its booking will start from October 3 and delivery from October 12.

Thar Rocks has features like a new 6-slat grille, all LED lighting setup, 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats and auto AC. For safety, the new SUV is equipped with safety features like 6 airbags standard, TPMS and ADAS. In the segment, Mahindra Thar Rocks will compete with the 5-door Force Gurkha. Apart from this, it can also be chosen as an alternative to Maruti Jimny.
