MG Select has announced the launch of the Cyberster electric sports car in India in January 2025. The car will be sold through this premium luxury retail channel of MG. Till now the company has not given any hint regarding the price of the upcoming car, but it is likely to come in India at a price of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected to come in CBU (Completely Built Up) form, the impact of which can also be seen on the price.
Based on the 2017 E-Motion Coupe Concept, this EV is built on a new platform. The electric sedan includes sleek LED headlights with DRLs at the front. Below is the sleek air intake. At the rear, arrow-shaped taillights and a split rear diffuser have been included. It gets diamond-cut alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 20 inches. One of its specialties is the scissor (opening upwards) doors present in it.
The Cyberster EV measures 4,533 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, 1,328 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,689 mm. Talking about powertrain, MG has given two battery pack and motor options in this car. The entry-level model gets a single 308 hp rear axle-mounted electric motor with a 64kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 520 km. It will also get a larger 77kWh battery pack along with two electric motors that jointly produce 535hp and 725Nm of peak torque. Its claimed range is 580 km. Not only this, MG has claimed that the top-end variant can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds.
Inside the Cyberster, the cabin features three screens for the instrument cluster, which includes a vertical infotainment system that has been specially designed and fitted to provide a good view to the driver. The car includes wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a built-in 5G SIM, connected car features, wireless charging, dual zone climate control, ventilated seats, various driving modes, a premium Bose audio system and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip .
