MG Motor Gets Speed ​​from EVs, Windsor Becomes Highest Selling EV

Sales of Electric Vehicles (EV) have increased rapidly in the last few years in the country. MG Motor sold 3,144 units of Windsor EV in November. This is the second month in a row that the Windsor has been the best-selling EV. Last month, MG Motor’s total sales stood at 6,019 units.

New Energy Vehicles (NEV) account for about 70 percent of the company’s total sales. However, this is the company’s wholesales. MG Motor’s sales of electric vehicles in November stood at 5,092 units. The company’s EV portfolio includes Comet EV, Windsor EV and ZS EV. Tata Motors holds the first position in this segment. MG Motor sold 3,116 units of Windsor EV in October. The company started delivery of this electric crossover to customers on Dussehra. Its prices are approximately between Rs 13.50 lakh to Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

This is the first EV for which the option of Battery as a Service has been given. In this, the starting price of Windsor EV will reduce to around Rs 10 lakh. However, with this, additional battery rental of Rs 3.5 per kilometer will have to be paid. MG Motor received more than 15,000 bookings within 24 hours of its booking opening. This crossover utility vehicle has the comfort of a sedan and the space of an SUV. Windsor EV has been made available in three variants – Excite, Exclusive and Essence. It competes with Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Motors’ Nexon EV.
Windsor EV has connected LED lights on both the front and rear. It has 18-inch alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. Its front has the MG logo below the connected LED DRL strip. It has a charging port on the front left fender. It is available in four colors – Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green and Starburst Black. Its cabin has been designed keeping in mind the experience of both luxury and technology. Reclining seats are provided in its rear. It has a 15.6″ touchscreen on its dashboard. Along with this, an 8.8 inch digital display has been provided for the driver. It has features like automatic climate control, wireless phone charging and panoramic glass roof.
