JSW MG Motor India has showcased the Magister SUV at the Auto Expo 2025. It is a facelift model of MG Gloster, but the Magister will be positioned above it. The company has confirmed that it will continue selling both models.
MG is yet to share details, but the design of the Magister is similar to the Maxus D90 SUV sold in markets like South Africa. The price of Gloster ranges between Rs 39.57 lakh to Rs 44.03 lakh (ex-showroom), so the price of Magister will also be premium.
The Magister will compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq and Nissan X-Trail.
MG Magister Design
The Magister gets a blacked-out grille and a larger MG logo than usual. There is a split headlight setup on either side of the grille, with slim LED daytime running lights at the top and vertical headlights at the bottom. It has diamond cut 5 spoke 19-inch alloy wheels, black body cladding and foot steps on both sides.
This SUV has black colored door handles, outside rear mirrors (ORVMs), roof and A, B and C-pillars which are giving good contrast to this SUV car. At the rear, it has a new connected LED taillight and a new designed bumper.

Magister Interior and Features
The model showcased at the event has black colored windows, so the interior of the Magister was not visible. However, spy shots of the Magester on test in India reveal that it features a free-standing 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, an all-digital instrument cluster and an all-black theme for the cabin.
Gloster gets features like panoramic sunroof, heated, cooled and massaging driver seat with power adjustment, heated passenger seat, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, 12-speaker audio system and electric tailgate. Therefore, it can be assumed that these features will be there in Magister also.
The safety suite may include Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, auto headlamps and wipers, tire pressure monitoring and electronic parking brake with auto hold.
